Our Story

Sarah grew up in a Brazilian-Lebanese-American household in South Florida, where home was never just a place. It was something you shaped with care: the textures, the colors, the way a room made you feel when you walked in. That awareness never left her.

She built her career inside some of South Florida's most ambitious design projects: luxury residences, resort-scale hospitality, and high-rise developments. Across every scale of interior work, she developed her eye for the details that make a space feel intentional. From curating material palettes and finish selections to designing spaces that balance beauty with how people actually live, she learned that great design isn't just about what looks right. It's about what feels right.

What set her apart was that she could do both sides — the creative vision and the execution. She could design a room and then source every piece in it, manage the budget, coordinate with the builder, and make sure it all came together exactly as intended.

Driven by a desire to bring that complete approach to her own clients, she launched Cura Design Studio in 2026. The name Cura, Portuguese for care, reflects both her heritage and her philosophy: that thoughtful design lives in the details, and the details deserve someone who's paying attention.

Today, Cura offers full-service interior design, FF&E procurement, and renovation coordination across South Florida. While the studio specializes in residential projects, Sarah's hospitality and commercial background informs every space she designs — and Cura selectively takes on commercial work where the project calls for it.

Every project is personal, every selection is intentional, and every client gets the kind of attention that larger firms can't offer.

At Cura, every project begins with you.

Sarah Calek

My design philosophy is rooted in warmth, materiality, and intention. I believe the best interiors feel considered, not decorated — where every surface, every finish, and every piece has a reason for being there.

I'm drawn to natural materials, clean lines with soul, and spaces that feel elevated without being untouchable. I design for the way people actually live: layered, comfortable, and deeply personal.

What makes my approach unique is the precision behind it. With a background in finance and years of hands-on procurement experience, I don't just design a vision; I know how to build it. Budgets hold. Timelines stay on track. And what you see in the presentation is what you get in the room.

My project experience spans custom homes, luxury multifamily, and hospitality, including work on Pier Sixty-Six, EVO Luxury Apartments, and Universal's Epic Universe.

Trilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, I love that I get to serve South Florida's diverse community in the languages they're most comfortable in.

When I'm not designing or on-site, you'll find me somewhere between a showroom and a coffee shop, probably both in the same afternoon.

"Cura means care. And that's what I bring to every project."

My Approach

Design should feel effortless, but getting there never is. My process is rooted in listening first, then building every decision on a foundation of intention and precision. I take the time to understand how you live, what you're drawn to, and what your space needs to become, so that nothing is arbitrary and everything belongs.

Intentional design · Seamless execution

Every material is selected for a reason: how it feels, how it ages, how it lives alongside everything else in the room. I don't design to impress. I design to last.

I bring the full picture to every project — creative vision backed by real budgets, clear timelines, and direct coordination with your architect, builder, and trades. What you see in the presentation is what you get in the room.
